ginko
By this time, Ginko and Usopp have fallen into an easy friendship and Ginko is easily Usopp's best friend outside of the Strawhats. They first met in Edensphere, where Ginko had been the first to clarify a few things about the world for Usopp after Praise felt the need to puzzle him. Since then, Ginko has died, Usopp has died, a revolution happened, Edensphere ended and their friendship remained. He had intended to bring his friend with him to his own world, but once he stepped into the voice, Ginko was nowhere to be seen. He trained for two long years, holding out little hope that Ginko was alive... until he came to Anatole. Here in Anatole, it was all too easy to slide back into a friendship that's far easier than the one in Edensphere, unencumbered with the trials that came along with the world. Being with Ginko is as easy as anything, and Usopp makes sure to meet up with him relatively often to share some food together and talk as friends do.

zhang liao
Usopp ran into Zhang Liao literally the moment of his arrival. One may think that being greeted with a blade isn't the best grounds for friendship, but somehow, Usopp felt more of a kinship with the stranger's determination than the friendliness he had found elsewhere (though he didn't take kindly to being threatened in the least). Since then, Usopp offered Zhang Liao a place in his home while he recuperated from his injuries, and it just... stuck. Zhang Liao is hot headed with a great sense of determination, but that only reminds Usopp of home all the more. He's very pleasant company, and Usopp's happy to call him a friend.

Since they became friends and comfortable in each other's presence, Usopp got the opportunity to learn more of Zhang Liao, his life at home and the way his morals work when his mentor came with the Mist. This only led to them becoming closer until Zhang Liao mysteriously disappeared - Usopp just hopes that he's all right in whatever war-torn country he's a part of and hopes he didn't manage to get himself killed in a place where they couldn't find the corpse.

sherlock holmes
Sherlock Holmes - or Allan Basil, as Sherlock introduced himself as - is something of a mystery to Usopp. Coming from a world full of oddities, Sherlock is odd in his own special way. Sherlock tends to speak in crisp, short sentences and communicates over the Forge exclusively by text and, as when affected by a calming potion, is really quite rude. Usopp likes him anyway. Sherlock has shown interest in the world around them, has attempted to study the Mist, indulged in Usopp's theories and mapmaking and has generally shown himself to be as inquisitive a person as Usopp's met in Anatole. He doesn't really know what to think of Allan, but he's curious, and would like to know more about him. In the meantime, he's perfectly content simply bouncing ideas off of the man.

Since their first few meetings, Usopp can firmly call Sherlock a friend. He's a fascinating albeit odd man, and has provided endless amounts of amusement in his abilities to read his environment, from fortune cookies to Usopp's own profession of choice. He has also learned of Sherlock's colourful past to a certain extent (which sounds fantastic and therefore must be true) and feels closer to him for it.

neirenn
Though Usopp has only spoken to Neirenn a couple of times, it's enough to give him a good impression of her. She's eager to share what she's learned, and certainly adventurous enough to convince Usopp to visit the Mist with her. On top of that, she can use magic, something that he finds endlessly fascinating. Neirenn's full of life and seems to him an open book, which is a pleasant change from most others in Anatole. He felt an immediate kinship with her, and is definitely interested in being good friends one day.

yú xiùlián
Xiulian is a difficult woman to read. So far, she has been courteous without fault, thoughtful and visibly curious about the world around her. She strikes Usopp as a very kind woman, albeit one that will be difficult to truly understand. Their first meeting by the Ruins had been pleasant enough for Usopp to want to speak to her again, but what really got his attention was when she dove into battle when he was ambushed by zombies. Usopp may not know swordwork, but he knows that she's skilled, a talent that's at odds with her gentle demeanor. He's grateful to her for the help and is curious enough about her to attempt to forge a friendship.

After a few more conversations with her, Usopp now knows much more about Xiulian than he did before. He knows that she had once belonged to some sort of faction with strict laws adhering to honour, and that she had lost someone dear to her. It had been a rare sight to see her vulnerable, but everything she voiced had matched a good part of Usopp's view on the world, and he thinks of her more warmly for it. He now considers her a friend.

benjen stark
Benjen is, in a word, frustrating. Usopp's attention was piqued when Benjen mentioned that things lurked behind the Wall and he hoped for a good story instead of short, curt answers that led him round and round the conversation. The way Benjen spoke about wildlings immediately raised his defences, suddenly reminded of the way fishmen are bound to their own island, but he's reserving judgment for later.

rachel berry
Rachel Berry is, in a word, adorable. She sings incessantly over the Forge and always seems very genuine while doing it, and seems much younger than how old Usopp understands her to be. They have only spoken a few times, but they've met once, when Usopp taught her how to shoot. She's an enthusiastic student, and he has a bit of a soft spot for people who want to get stronger. He doesn't know her well enough to call her a friend, but certainly wishes the best for her.

loki laufeyson
Loki is rude, pompous, aggressive, and can be downright mean from what little Usopp has seen of him. Because the first time Usopp did see him was in the midst of what seemed to be a particularly bad nightmare, Usopp finds him endlessly entertaining. He doesn't like Loki by any means, but he's interesting enough to keep his attention. He'll be keeping an eye on him.

anders
Anders is quick to joke, and quicker still to weave a tale, and Usopp liked him right away. His open nature and his willingness to talk about whatever comes up in conversation is refreshing, and his clear devotion to rights among mages has made obvious his tender heart. Usopp only had to meet him once to decide that they would get along, and he will likely seek Anders out in the future for a bit of company every now and then.

Since their first few chats, Usopp has discovered one important thing: the man does not shut up about mages. He hasn't said anything yet, but he's very close to reminding him that he does not in fact have any prejudice against mages as they don't exist in his homeland. Anders has also shown what Usopp personally believes to be his stupid side by baiting a serial killer in public, to which is only question is why. There's ideals, and then there's that. This doesn't affect his liking for Anders at all - he's just as amusing and entertaining to speak with as usual - but he does feel like he has a better grip on his personality by now.

sanji
Sanji is a Strawhat, and that means that he's one of Usopp's best friends. They've fought beside each other, with each other and for each other, and this is a bond that will never be broken. Even among Strawhats, however, he and Sanji have a bit of a unique relationship; they can switch from goofing off to bickering to having serious discussions in the blink of an eye, and most of all, Usopp just feels comfortable around him. This particular version of Sanji is also a transplant from another jamjar, a thought that discomfits Usopp even if it does mean that he's able to adapt to Anatole more easily than he would otherwise. It might also, however, have something to do with how unhappy Sanji seems in Anatole, though that part of Sanji is definitely downplayed. That makes Usopp think that he probably shouldn't be so happy to have Sanji around... but he is anyway.

keith goodman
Usopp doesn't know too much about Keith yet, and so far only knows him as Sky High. He has a pretty good impression of him, considering that he allowed Usopp to come with him into the Mist on a search and rescue mission despite knowing nothing about Usopp or the people he wanted to find. If nothing else, the man has a good heart. The constant exclamations and the armour remind him keenly of Heracles, and he looks at Sky High more fondly than he might otherwise because of it.

isabela
Usopp's interest in Isabela is based on two things: she's a friend and comrade of Anders, and she's a pirate. As far as he's concerned, this is a good enough reason to make her acquaintance. Besides that, she's funny and irreverent and definitely knows how to have a good time. Usopp suspects she will make him dreadfully uncomfortable on more than one occasion, but she strikes him as a nice person overall.

utena tenjo
Usopp doesn't know Utena too well yet, but he's looking forward to getting to know her more... preferably away from the drama of the Mist. The circumstances she came from are interesting, and she's given Usopp no reason to believe that she's anything other than a generally nice - albeit strong willed - girl.

bernkastel
Bernkastel is a decidedly mysterious present force in Anatole. Usopp had first met her via text, when she posed a locked room riddle to the community at large without a clear answer. It still bugs Usopp that he never did get an answer to that, but he had learned later that she had been more interested in how people answered than getting what could possibly be a correct answer. His perception of the faceless riddler shifted when he heard her voice, clearly one of a young girl, and he's more interested in her than ever. She seems deliberately inflammatory, all too willing to cause a stir, which is almost dangerous. Despite his wariness, he's nevertheless attracted to the intriguing and will doubtlessly speak to her in the future.

saphira
Saphira is loud, rude, loud, infuriating, loud, obsessive, loud, opinionated, loud, vain and loud. They first met at the medieval fair when Usopp had been performing a puppet show rather dear to his heart (featuring none other but his other dearest friend of Edensphere) when she had interrupted the story she had requested, making sure to correct him at every junction and loudly debating the facts of a story. Needless to say, Usopp became really, really irritated. Afterwards she continued her obsession by offering information on dragons for a fee, and they met for the second time at the welcome party as she eyed the pet fish with hunger.

At which point she proceeded to roll her eyes at him and belittle him some more. Though this should have increased his dislike for her, Usopp's shifted into finding her consistently irate manner to be halfway amusing even as he wants to reach out and throttle her. He may avoid her in the future, but some days he won't be able to resist tormenting her. It's far too easy, and Usopp really does enjoy being annoying.

tony stark
So far, Tony strikes Usopp as a pretty fascinating guy. He's loud, incredibly irreverent and doesn't seem to give a damn as to how the world sees him, which immediately catches his interest. There's not nearly enough exuberance in Anatole for Usopp's liking - at times it seems like he's the only loud mouth he runs around and talks with his hands and essentially makes a nuisance out of himself - so it's nice to see a fellow loud mouth around. At first that was the only thing that was of note, but then it turns out that Tony has a robot you can wear which is the coolest thing on account of the fact that it is a robot you can wear and also lasers and also robots and also a robot. That you can wear. Holy shit.

Now very impressed and very very keen to get on Tony's good side so he can see the entire robot (that you can wear), Usopp is definitely keeping an eye on him. (So he can see the robot you can wear.)

saya
Saya strikes Usopp as a quiet, gentle sort. There's not much he's noticed about her so far, frankly, but he at least remembers his name and has a casual enough interest in her to continue their correspondence. The most impressive thing about her so far is her power to communicate with plants, which is a subject of much fascination. He'd like to get to know her a bit better later, particularly considering how new she is in conjunction with how young she seems.

scout
Scout is a strange sort. She's clearly young, but she has a way of seeming almost ancient. Her vocabulary far surpasses most of her age, and she always seems guarded, hunted. Even Usopp has to restrain his curiosity when it comes to her, if only because her mannerisms seem to discourage questions. He thinks she probably needs a friend.

george stacy
Usopp's not quite sure what he thinks of George. For one, he seems to have a soft spot for his kids, his daughter and her friend among them - that's a point in his favour. The point detracting that is the fact that he's a police officer, and a cocky one at that, one who thinks he can waltz into Anatole and solve a disappearance as if the others hadn't already tried. It's a bit of an anomaly, and Usopp was deeply distressed at the fact that he smirked at the news of Zhang Liao's disappearance; he can understand confidence and the desire to do one's job, but death isn't something to be taken lightly. Usopp's going to be keeping an eye on him. For some reason, he doubts that he'll want to treat former criminals as lightly as Anatole does.

the amazing spiderman500men

susumu yamazaki

Quiet, stoic and analytical, Susumu has made quite an impression in the few times that they have spoken. Namely, the fact that the man is all too eager to draw his sword on things, first the Forge and then one of Usopp's plants. He's fairly unreadable, but tends to listen carefully to everything he's told. He has no idea what to make of him.

warrior of light
Stoic, steadfast and, for the most part, silent, the Warrior remains more or less a mystery to Usopp. They have spoken only a few times, but he's distinctive enough to stick out in his memory, particularly after they attacked a giant earwig together and after he had gone into the Ruins to rescue Warrior with the help of Tali. He's not too certain what to make of him, but he seems nice enough. Usopp's definitely interested.

topher brink
This relationship is somewhat muddled by the fact that Usopp knew and quite liked Topher back in Edensphere, where he had gone by the name of Genius. Quirky, enthusiastic and, well, a little bit cowardly like Usopp himself, he had always really enjoyed his company. It's nothing less than surreal to run into a man with the same face and mannerisms here in Anatole, but with vastly different experiences. Topher's almost less approachable without the amicability that memory loss gives everyone and without his brother by his side, but Usopp's found himself liking him just as much. He's intent on never letting the man know that he knew another iteration of him, but it's bound to slip as they grow closer.

reborn
Reborn and Usopp only ever had the one conversation, but boy, did he ever make an impression! Though it's hard not to make a big impression when you look like a kid, speak like an intellect and happen to own a great amount of inquisitiveness. Reborn mostly talked circles around Usopp who couldn't quite restrain his curiosity about him, and it's clear that there's more to him than what meets the eye... and Usopp wants to know what. Other than that? He quite liked him! What a cool little guy.

tali'zorah vas normandy
Tali's cool. More to the point, wherever she's from is super-cool. She knows about spaceships, showed Usopp a picture of Earth and has these medi-gel things that are basically the most useful things he's ever seen and he'd really like to get his hands on twenty or thirty of that. But when it comes to Tali herself, she's quite unassuming despite coming from looks to be such a rich world. She's almost a bit awkward, and he still doesn't know what's under that helmet, mostly because he's afraid to ask. Most of what he's seen is that Tali is a smart woman with a good heart. He quite likes her.
